Reading Notes: Week 12

For my Free reading I've decided to read books from the Harry Potter Series. I've never read the books and only seen the movies but I've heard the books provide a lot more details. There are 17 chapters in the first Harry Potter so I will read 4 per section. I'm hoping to do a twist off Harry Potter for my 3rd story in my project. 

Harry Potter and the Sorceress Stone 

Chapter One - The Boy Who Lived 

The Dursleys live in England and are embarrassed by Mrs. Dursleys sister who died and they pretended not to know her. One morning Mr. Dursley saw a cat reading a map but acted like he didn't see it. Later he hears chatter about his sister in laws one year old son, Harry. He didn't tell Mrs. Dursley. That night Dumbledore shows up turns off all lights and talks to the cat who is Proffesor McGonagall. They discuss Voldemorts attempt to kill Harry but he is the boy who lived and they drop him off at the Dursleys where no one would expect him. They left Harry with a latter explaining things and they all left. 

Chapter Two - The Vanishing Glass 

Harry is now 11 and living under stairs at the Dursleys house where he is treated poorly also accompanied by the Dursleys son Dudley. It's Dudleys birthday and he wants to go to the zoo. As their leaving Mr. Dursley points in Harry's face there better be no funny business. As Harry is at the zoo he notices he can talk to the snakes and is able to remove the glass to let the snake escape and Dudley falls into the glass. 

Chapter Three - The Letters from No One 

Harry is ready to go to school to get away and one day when Harry went to get the mail he saw a letter written to himself. The Dursleys take his mail and forbid him to read it. Eventually the same letter came in every day until they decided they must leave to avoid the mail. They go to a lighthouse and as they are sleeping they wake up to a loud thud noise. 

Chapter Four - The Keeper of the Keys 

Harry wakes up to Hagrid who brings him a cake for his birthday and finally he gets to read the letter. Hagrid takes Harry with him as Harry learns he is famous. They go to Gringotts the bank of the wizarding world where Harry discovers his parents left him lots of money and Hagrid also gets a secret item out of a bank vault as well. Harry then gets his uniform wand and all book required for Hogwarts School of Arts.

Week 2 Story

Next to them was a beautiful lake with a very cunning crane. The crane loves to eat fish and saw an opportunity to take advantage of the fish struggling in their pond. The Crane flew over to the fish and enticed the fish by telling them about this beautiful lake next to them with a plentiful amount of water. Soon, all the fish in the lake were gathered around the Crane while he went on and on about the lake he lives in with lots of water.
