This is an account of how karma functions. An event of what will be caused and what will follow. King Shantanu asked Hastinapur to marry him and she said yes, but made him promise he would never question her decisions which he agreed too. They were a happy couple until they had there kid Ganga and she drowned the kid which upset the king. They had 7 more kids which she kept drowning and by the 8th kid he spoke up and asked why. She told him she agreed to 8 celestial mortal spirits. After telling the truth she left with her one remaining son.  16 years later he missed his wife and son. He was innerupted by sounds of fighting and saw a young man who was great at shooting arrows who wound up being his long lost son, Devavrat. Soon he tried to get remarried was denied because she felt her children would never be king. He was so sad he stopped doing his king duties and his son noticed and decided to take matters into his own hands.  Prince Devavrat begged the daughter to marry King Shantanu

Week 8 Progress

Image
I'm happy with my progress in this class so far but not completely satisfied. I for sure want to get an A in this class and I'm currently sitting at 200 points in the middle of the week. I will definitely need to do some extra credit assignments in the future in order to achieve an A. My weekly routine has been going well although sometimes I use the grace period because of my busy schedule.  My blog posts and website are getting better with each assignment I have to do. In the second half of the semester I will try not to use the grace period as much and also do more extra credit assignments so I don't have to stress as much. I will try and make my blog and website more visually appealing to keep readers interested so I receive more comments.  Halfway there!

Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Image
The comments I've been getting from other students have been great. Growing up in my english classes we always had to peer review which I  used to dread but I understand now the importance of having another set of eyes read a paper. The comments that critique your paper are always helpful so you can see where your mistakes are. Also, the comments that compliment certain areas are great so you know your going in the right direction. My comments haven't been the best but I'm improving. It's hard to point out specifics. Reading others content has been great for me though as it gives me more ideas for what I'm going to write in the future. I do feel like I'm meeting people in this class through there posts especially with their introduction posts; which has been nice since I haven't had an in person class since last year. The feedback assignments have been great in seeing what I missed so by the end of making this website it should be near perfection. I chose th

Week 8 Reading and Writing

Image
The class layout has been great so far with the instructions always letting you know exactly what needs to be accomplished. My reading and writing assignments have been working for me as I am able to read everything and put the important details in bullet points which allows me to go back and use them for future stories. I am happy with my blog and project website. My project website is fun to add to and make visually appealing. I feel my writing has improved so much from this class because of the daily assignments which keep my mind working. The childhood fable stories have been my favorite. At first I was skimming but now its easier to read the whole thing and use bullet points.   Typing on computer

Death of Drona  As long as Ashwatthaman son of Drona was alive his father would never be conquered. Bhima was determined to defeat Drona and selected an elephant named the same name as Dronas son and then killed it with his own hands shouting Ashwatthaman is dead! Drona heard Ashwatthaman is dead and when hearing did not belive it until Yuhisthira confirmed it. When telling Drona he said yes Ashwatthaman the elephant is dead but Drona didn't hear the elephant part. Then Dhrishtadyumna the Pandava general grabbed his sword and jumped over to Drona and cut off his head.  The Afterlife  Yudhisthria went to the eternal bliss and saw all the Kauravas that were also in Heaven. Yudhisthria says that he cannot stay here with all the Kauravas that have done him wrong. Then a celestial being appeared in a forest with a path of knives and fire everywhere hinting at hell. Then it all disappeared as it was an illusion to test him. Indra spoke showing all the five children and where they were in

Life in the Forest  The Brahmin advised to call the sun god so they did. For 12 years the Pandavas lived in the woods with their wives. Surya gave them a pot with food.  The Cattle Raid  After hearing that Kickaka was dead there was a plot to attack the city of Virata to capture Raj. On the last day of the thirteenth year the pandavas raided the north with many cattle. They had a successful raid and seized Rajah and forced him to return to his own city. The Kauravas had advanced from south with Rajahs son Virata.  Preparations for War  There was a wedding with lots of song and dance as guests were departing from Virata. Balarama then spoke and said you have heard the words of my brother the Kauravas have wronged the Pandavas. He did not advise war. It was decided if Duryodanha was willing to give up the kingdom of Yudhisthira there would be peace but if not there would be war. The messenger was then sent to deliver the message.  The Cattle Raid

The House of Fire The Pandavas and Queen Kunti went to Varanatave to marvel at the beautiful furniture and tapestry and realized that everything was oil and wood so it was easily flamible. He realized him and his mom might be in danger of burning alive. Prince Vidura and his nephews decided to dig an underground passage which led to a forest outside. Purochana was waiting to set fire to the place on a moonless night to set the fire but because the captian waited so long they were able to finish the whole underground passage way. After escaping they lit it on fire and killed Purochana. The wind made the whole place light on fire.  Pandavas
